Position Summary

The Veterinary Technician Assistant supports veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing top-quality medical care for patients. This role involves hands-on animal care, assisting with procedures, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and ensuring a positive experience for clients and their pets.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
• Offer friendly, attentive client care while managing appointment scheduling
• Safely handle and restrain animals of all sizes and temperaments
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms; clean and sterilize instruments and equipment
• Monitor patients during recovery and report changes to veterinary staff
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with client communication
• Feed, bathe, and exercise animals as needed
• Perform basic laboratory tests
• Support inventory management and restocking of supplies

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting preferred
• Compassionate, reliable, and detail-oriented
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort with animals of all species and sizes
• Willingness to learn and grow within the veterinary field
