About Barrett Veterinary Practice

The Barrett Veterinary Team is here for you and your furry family.

When you step through our front doors, you will be greeted by the smiling faces of Tammy and Roxane who will settle you and your pet into one of our three exam rooms. Once you’ve had a moment to sit and your furry sidekick has had an opportunity to give everything a thorough sniff, one of our rockstar technicians, Tina and Kate, will enter the room to start your appointment.

After performing a preliminary exam on your animal and chatting with you about your needs for the visit, they will bring in one of our incredible Veterinarians – Dr. Barrett, Dr. Dueck, or Dr. Revell. Whether your visit is for routine vaccines, a medical concern, or an emergency assessment, they will examine your pet and formulate a plan to provide the most effective and compassionate care possible.

Is your pet in need of a nail trim? Do you need an extra set of hands with a litter of puppies or multiple animals? Chances are that you will also meet our Technician Assistants, Ayla and Rachel, who love lending you an extra hand.

We are always here for you and your four-legged friends.

Preparing For Your Pet’s Visit

1

It’s Easy To Make An Appointment

Schedule your appointment using our online booking system, this is the easiest way to find our availability and book in for surgeries, medical appointments, follow-ups, toenail trims and vaccination appointments.

Our surgery days vary depending on the week. We have vaccination and medical appointments available every weekday, and late appointments available on Wednesdays.

When booking surgeries please select your admission appointment time carefully This is your dedicated time with a technician to ask any questions and for us to take a history, so please ensure you allow a few extra minutes for traffic and other factors to ensure you arrive on time.

If you have an emergency during business hours, please call the clinic. We may be able to accept emergencies based on availability.

2

The Day Before Your Appointment

If your pet is scheduled for a medical appointment please contact any previous veterinary clinic they have visited and ask for their records to be emailed to Drbarrettvet@gmail.com.

If your pet is currently on any medication that needs refilling, please email over any prescription requests at least 24 hour prior to your appointment, make sure to include medication name and quantity needed. Dewormers and flea and tick medication is kept on hand and doesn’t need to be pre ordered.

If your pet is coming in for a surgical appointment, you will be sent your pre surgery instructions and your admission appointment time, the day before surgery via email and text.

Our pre-surgical instructions include:

  • No food after midnight the night before surgery
  • Water can be left accessible
  • Filling out our pre surgery form

Arriving For Your Appointment

Since we are a busy clinic, we ask that you ensure you arrive on time. Our appointments are scheduled for 15-30 minutes, so if traffic is bad, please call us so we may check if we can still accommodate your appointment.

When you arrive, please give us a call and let us know you’ve arrived. We will advise you when to enter the clinic as we cater to animals that may be anxious in a clinic environment and want to ensure a positive experience for them. We also like having only a few pets in the waiting area at once to avoid congestion.

Once in the clinic we will pop you into one of our exam rooms and have one of our amazing technicians intake you and your pet. If your pet is a surgery patient, they will spend the day with us, and we will advise you of your discharge appointment after they have finished with surgery. Surgery patients are generally discharged between 2:30pm and 4:30pm.
